Call for Thematic Stream Proposals Policy Targeted Panel Series

Thematic Streams

A thematic stream is a set of linked policy-targeted panels to be held during the first three days of the ICID 2010 conference, concluding or not with a roundtable discussion on the afternoon of day three. Based on discussions at the round table, the thematic stream leader will produce a one-page summary of policy recommendations and a five-minute presentation to be delivered in plenary on day four of ICID 2010. The stream can be composed of one, two or three panels constituted of a set of four or five papers. The papers will be included in the ICID conference proceedings along with the thematic stream’s summary policy recommendations. The one-page policy recommendations will be used to build a synthesis set of recommendations for major policy makers and will be appended to these synthesis recommendations.

Thematic Stream Outputs

Each thematic stream will produce 1) a set of well edited conference papers for the conference proceedings, and 2) a one-page set of policy recommendations to be presented in plenary, revised based on feedback in plenary, and submitted to the conference organizing committee by the closing of the conference. Thematic stream organizers are encouraged to develop their stream papers into a special issue of a journal or an edited volume.
